Why executive coaching?

Especially in these times of dramatic changes executives ask for assistance in coping with a number of issues. These issues are both of private nature and concern the career of the individual.
The situation is often that the executive has been working hard and long hours sometimes for years. All of a sudden changes come and disrupt the normal run of the mill. The executive might encounter changes in responsibility or even having to be laid off. Dramatic changes for anyone. Having coached executives for 20 years my experience is that most top managers haven’t thought much about what they would do if they encountered a situation where their lives, their status and their income dramatically would change. 

 
Why coach management teams?

Many of the managers in the companies I work for have the problem that they all are very busy and often don’t have time to meet. This lack of communication fosters a lack of coordination and subsequently arguments and in some cases lack of trust between managers. This is not only damaging the company, but has a stressful effect on the individual manager. Top management must work as a group - a group that should be functioning as one coherent team. In some of these cases, often when it has become very serious, I am called in and asked what to do. There is never one simple answer. In some cases where trust has been broken I suggest coaching of the entire top management group.
